The current study suggests that alternative metrics\nmay exist that can account for differences in language\nprocessing ability. Two primed lexical decision tasks are used\nto examine the effects of bigram frequency and diversity on\nspeed and accuracy of word recognition. It is demonstrated\nthat both frequency and diversity contribute to word\nrecognition performance; findings and theoretical\nimplications are discussed.","language":"eng","license":{"name":"","short_name":"","text":null,"url":""},"keywords":[{"word":"Statistical learning; lexical decision; language"}],"section":"Posters: Papers","is_remote":true,"remote_url":"https://escholarship.org/uc/item/06p052vk","frozenauthors":[{"first_name":"Russell","middle_name":"","last_name":"Turk","name_suffix":"","institution":"Nottingham Trent University","department":""},{"first_name":"Gary","middle_name":"","last_name":"Jones","name_suffix":"","institution":"Nottingham Trent University","department":""},{"first_name":"Duncan","middle_name":"","last_name":"Guest","name_suffix":"","institution":"Nottingham Trent University","department":""},{"first_name":"Angela","middle_name":"","last_name":"Young","name_suffix":"","institution":"Nottingham Trent University","department":""},{"first_name":"Mark","middle_name":"","last_name":"Andrews","name_suffix":"","institution":"Nottingham Trent University","department":""}],"date_submitted":null,"date_accepted":null,"date_published":"2017-01-01T18:00:00Z","render_galley":null,"galleys":[{"label":"PDF","type":"pdf","path":"https://journalpub.escholarship.org/cognitivesciencesociety/article/27411/galley/17047/download/"}]}
