Subjects\nwere presented with a standard numerosity-detection\ntask but for a range of presentation times to allow\nTask-Accuracy Functions to be computed for\nindividual subjects. The data appear to show a\ncontinuous change in processing for numerosities\nfrom 2 to 5 when the data are aggregated across\nsubjects. At the level of individual subjects, there\nappear to be qualitative shifts in enumeration\nprocessing after 3 or 4 objects. The approach used in\nUiis experiment m a y be used to test the claim that\nsubitizing is a distinct enumeration process that can\nbe used for small numbers of objects.","language":"eng","license":{"name":"","short_name":"","text":null,"url":""},"keywords":[],"section":"Submitted Presentations","is_remote":true,"remote_url":"https://escholarship.org/uc/item/1s91h49q","frozenauthors":[{"first_name":"Tony","middle_name":"","last_name":"Simon","name_suffix":"","institution":"Georgia Institute of Technology","department":""},{"first_name":"Angel","middle_name":"","last_name":"Caberera","name_suffix":"","institution":"Georgia Institute of Technology","department":""},{"first_name":"Reinhold","middle_name":"","last_name":"Kliegl","name_suffix":"","institution":"Max Planck Institute for Human\nDevelopment & Education","department":""}],"date_submitted":null,"date_accepted":null,"date_published":"1993-01-01T18:00:00Z","render_galley":null,"galleys":[{"label":"PDF","type":"pdf","path":"https://journalpub.escholarship.org/cognitivesciencesociety/article/31774/galley/22842/download/"}]}
