W e argue that the type of activity in which a person is engaged influences the kinds of features that trigger remindings, and, conversely, that remindings can change situated behavior over time. W e argue further that the types of indices used in memory are not uniform, but depend upon the nature of the task that a person is engaged in as well as his history of interaction with the world.","language":"eng","license":{"name":"","short_name":"","text":null,"url":""},"keywords":[],"section":"Paper Presentations -- Reminding and Case Retrieval","is_remote":true,"remote_url":"https://escholarship.org/uc/item/0465b988","frozenauthors":[{"first_name":"Tom","middle_name":"","last_name":"McDougal","name_suffix":"","institution":"University of Chicago","department":""},{"first_name":"Kristian","middle_name":"","last_name":"Hammond","name_suffix":"","institution":"University of Chicago","department":""},{"first_name":"Colleen","middle_name":"","last_name":"Seifert","name_suffix":"","institution":"University of Michigan","department":""}],"date_submitted":null,"date_accepted":null,"date_published":"1991-01-01T18:00:00Z","render_galley":null,"galleys":[{"label":"PDF","type":"pdf","path":"https://journalpub.escholarship.org/cognitivesciencesociety/article/32889/galley/23949/download/"}]}
