The examined works, \n6 Kacides Mauresques\n — a cycle, apparently inspired by 10th-century Iberian Arabic poetry translated into French by Franz Toussaint and published in \nMercure de France \nin 1909 — and \nSur la jetée d’Alexandrie\n — a piece composed after an excerpt from \nAphrodite\n, a novel by Pierre Louÿs published in 1896 — were probably composed in the early 1910s.
