Participants were slower to respond\nwhen working with a partner than when working alone, and\ntheir mouse movements also differed across conditions.\nParticipants paired with a different-race partner took longer to\nrespond than participants paired with a same-race partner. We\nargue that, in the joint conditions, participants’ longer\nresponses were the result of automatic inhibitory processes\nthat arise within the social context.",
