In this study\nwe performed protocol analysis on a set of interview\ntranscripts from an expert CTA practitioner to elicit the\ncognitive processes of conducting CTA interviews. We also\nconsulted expert CTA practitioners to identify the strategies\nthat they used during the interviews. We present key\nstrategies that were employed by the expert CTA practitioners\nto ensure comprehensiveness and accuracy in the information\ncollected, such as looking for perceptual cues (e.g.\nconsidering verbs such as “determine”) to ascertain adequacy\nof SME’s responses and selection of follow-up questions.
