    "abstract": "When learning from others, it is important to take a\ncritical stance—evaluating both the informants themselves\nas well as the content of their claims. In addition to\naccuracy, one can evaluate claims based on quality. The\ncurrent study investigates developmental change in learners’\nevaluations of evidence that varies in quality—inductive\nstrength based on typicality or diversity. We found that\nwhile younger children track which informant provides\nwhich examples, they do not have clear preferences for the\ninformant who provides stronger examples. Older children,\non the other hand, are in the middle of a developmental\ntransition. They rate informants who provide inductively\nstrong examples as more trustworthy, but only reliably\nchoose the informant who provides diverse examples",
