EFs, the cognitive\nresources including working memory and inhibitory control\nthat enable attentional control, manipulation of mental\nrepresentations, and task switching (Miyake et al, 2000),\npowerfully predict mathematics achievement (Bull & Lee,\n2014). Mathematics is also a domain in which anxiety and\nperformance pressure are often heightened, which can result\nin worry ideation and load to EF resources (Foley et al,\n2017; Schmader & Beilock, 2012). However, despite these\nrelationships, mathematics cognition under pressure remains\nunder-considered.",
