Specifically,\nlearning the sentential complement grammatical structure has\nbeen shown to play a causal role in the development of some\nfalse belief reasoning skills. Here, we extend this line of work\nto examine this relationship in the wild by means of a corpus\nanalysis of children’s speech during the typical period of ToM\ndevelopment. We show that children’s use of the sentential\ncomplement grammatical structure increases immediately\npreceding the ToM development period and plateaus shortly\nthereafter. Furthermore, we find that parents’ child-directed\nspeech follows a similar pattern.",
