    "abstract": "This review explores the complex relationship between Fear of\nFalling (FoF) and Fear of Heights (FoH), and their impact on\nhuman postural control. FoF encompasses a spectrum of psychological\nand physiological responses that dynamically influence\npostural control, while FoH involves perceptual distortions\nand heightened physiological arousal in response to elevated\nenvironments. Through a comprehensive literature review,\nwe examine the research methods and findings of studies\non FoF and FoH. We further propose that Optimal Feedback\nControl (OFC) theory is a suitable framework to understand\nthe computational aspects of how these fears modify postural\ncontrol. We aim to provide a nuanced understanding of\nFoF and FoH, not only as psychological phenomena but as\ncomplex, dynamic interactions of cognitive, physiological, and\nmotor processes influencing an individual's interaction with\ntheir environment.",
